Tatenhill or Donair? Midlands PPL
Hi there,
I'm looking for some up to date information/recommendations on which place would be better to do my PPL. I'm currently living in Dublin and have completed 6 hours in Weston. Work with Ryanair has resulted in me moving to Derby in the coming weeks so looking to continue and complete the PPL over in the UK.
I've searched the forums for info on both but it's outdated. Any info from current or recent students of either flight schools would be greatly appreciated. I've been speaking to Tatenhill and they seem very friendly, haven't had a chance to speak to Donair at present.
Cheers,
LIFFY4E

A strong consideration should also be Derby Aeroclub at Egginton. Paul Jones top bloke. If you learn off a short grass airfield you won't be afraid of going in and out of any short strips later.

Oh brilliant, I'll have a look into them also. I hadn't heard of them to be honest as it's all new to me over in Derby. But as you say, the short strip will prove worthwhile in the future!
