Sandown / Shanklin recommendation for lunch with kids

Taking 9 year old for a trip to Sandown tomorrow. I've been plenty of times with friends and been fed by Carla, and various other venues in Sandown, but was wondering if anyone with kids knows a particularly good place to go?

You know the stuff. Pizza, ice cream etc

It's a 15 minute walk from Sandown to the station. Then an unusual train ride in ex Underground train stock will take you to the end of Ryder pier if you want. Loads of places to eat in Ryde. If the IOW steam railway is operating, it being a BH weekend, you can connect with it from the Island Line train.

For next time: 20 minute walk heading 090 takes you to The Beach Cafe right on the beach. Has all the ice cream and junk food you could wish for.
