Nottingham Southern Arrival

Hello, wondered if anyone could assist? I'm planning to Fly into Nottingham from Kemble and wanted to tackle the East Midlands Airspace as appose to skirting around it. Clearly I need to obtain zone transit from East Midlands. My concern is they will keep hold of me until I'm almost on top of Nottingham's Atz... Wondered if anyone had approached from the south before and just how they were handled etc. Aware I could do a little com2 work but try to avoid box jumping where I can.

Cheers

Depending on traffic, I would try to transfer you to nottingham radio just as you pass abeam East Midlands, earlier can be problematic if I'm vectoring for the ILS
If you are concerned that that's too late then think about starting your descent slightly early so as to drop out beneath the 1500ft stub at which point it should no longer be an issue to the controller.
