So £15 to land a PA-28 at 1100kg plus £7.50 parking and a mandatory handling fee.

Avoid.........

If they took out mandatory handling and allowed a period of free parking we'd be queueing up to give them money, what is it with these people? Have their accountants never heard of marginal costing and revenue?

B4 the cow droppings are thrown - does anybody have a real world figure for the handling cost of a typical C172/PA24? If it is a pound, so what, if it is a fortune, get the cowpat.

50 Euro for toilet service ? They better be throwing in a complimentary arse wiping service for that kind of money !

DTVA supposedly has some of the cheapest fuel in the country.

Maybe they are worried at losing what little GA stuff they currently have. It might migrate to Church Fenton.

It depends ... if this is service for flushing the on-board toilet tank, then it is a usual price, if it would be for using their toilet I would expect ass licking service included ...

its been a few years ago now but getting through security there was pretty horrible.

Not quite in the same league as Norwich or Blackpool. But bad enough.

airpolice, take a look at a map and see where DTVA is compared to Church Fenton. Church Fenton is fine for York and Leeds, its a no brainier driving between the two.

Church Fenton has gone quiet since the mad fly-in.

And not having to go near dropping the bog on an aircraft its worth every penny. In fact I would happily pay double not to have to deal with ours.

Whats the big deal, sounds reasonable to me, why should we not pay something towards the genuine costs ?

ILS, Hard Runway, Pick you up from the aircraft, let you use the meeting area and provide free refreshments, works for me.

that's fine that's you getting something for you handling fee.

Rocking up and self parking, sticking your own chocks in, walking to the gate to escape.

Then reverse to get the plane back.

That is if you even get out at all, some just land and pick up fuel and go again.

most mandatory handling is a rip off and the excuse the facilitys are there if you want them but it your choice if you don't want to use them doesn't wash.

Reminds me of the time I pitched up at Edinburgh in the Chipmunk. Follow me van turns out, parked at Signature, van turns up to take me the ten yards to the "office", me in my Nomex and gloves, and £168.00, mandatory handling later, I taxied past Fred the Shreds executive fleet

I felt a bit rubbered
