Devil

hi stranger, you probably need class 1 'medication' to get a class 2 'medical'
(class 1 stuff I used to take when I was ur age is very expensive these days…)

Hi Stranger,

This is the link to the CAA website which lists the AME's. You can find one there. Medical Examiners Database Search | Medical | Personal Licences and Training

I paid £90 for my class 2 medical about a month ago. But that was based in Coventry so it may be more expensive for that-there London!

Do remember though that it may cost a little more if you need "extras"! An eye examination may need to be done (although I got mine done for free in Tesco!) and a medical report from a GP may be requested if there are other things to explore. (Again, that cost me an additional £40)

Hope that helps!

Davey

just have been phoning around and it ranges from £110 to £300 depending on whom you call.

I found them on CAA website .

What do you consider reasonable price?

I am 26 so not that old and why do you think class 1 is cheaper? class 1 certainly involves more and hence more expensive .

Stranger, rantanplane was joking about a class1 medical.

He was referring to your use of the word "medication" rather than "medical" and likening it to class 1 drug use.

It was actually quite a good joke until I just had to explain it.....

I think that is up there with "Don't pay up front"

IE: Don't start flying and spend hundreds before you have the medical............

Class 2 Medical at 26yo is valid for 5 years.

£110 is very reasonable. £300 is outrageous!

Anywhere between £100 and £160 is reasonable.

I just paid £240 for a Class 1 Medical, so dont pay more than £200 for a Class 2.

£90 on 1 December 2014 for an EASA Class 2, with no ECG this year. I once played £250 for a CAA JAR Class 2.
