the crucial thing is as we can see here is to speak to them immediately with preferably your wallet out.
"It looks like I will be here for at least a couple of weeks can I prepay for some of that now please"
Then if they are nice etc to you, leave with a parting gift be it a couple of kg of biscuits of a case of wine.
