A nice little flying film

Apologies if this has been posted before. It's a great little 15 minute film 'The Flying Lesson' filmed at and around Barton and overhead Sleap. Not much of a plot, you'd never fly a Tiger with a death grip on the stick like that, and the main character is unconvincing as an airline pilot but the flying scenes are beautifully shot and it's technically pretty accurate.

Lovely little film, I really enjoyed what it conveyed. Spoilt a little only by the '10,000 hours' comment...

Glad you liked it, Ellie. I watched it twice and I think its few faults are down to the poor characterisation of the main character. Not only did she not come across as an airline pilot, a few prods from the producer would have had her (after that lovely comment from 'the instructor' that "the instruments don't really mean what they are showing") having a 'finger / thumb' stick grip instead of that death grip, and looking ahead rather than still looking down at the panel.

I picked up first time round that the 'instructor's' comment which was something like "lucky you had the height to recover; I made that mistake once and didn't". I thought that must be a mistake, but of course once the story unfolds it makes sense.

Apart from those main character flaws I enjoyed it. Great film!

Nice film overall. The first two thirds looked like it could have been made by the "Daily Mail Film Unit" Took me a while to realise that it was supposed to be fantasy. 10,000 hours at her age? Must have started flying at the age of two!

For the amount of effort that went into making the film, it was a shame that the script was not better prepared. I also picked up upon the 10k hours as well.
At that stage the credibility had gone out of the window. The acting was mediocre, but nevertheless it's still a beautiful aircraft.
