Anyone flown in recently? Any tips for eateries, drinkeries etc?

A large choice down in the Town square.

Evening time , only problem was finding a Taxi to get back to the airfield

Thanks Blink, intend overnighting so will probably have a better chance of a taxi in the morn. Better make that afternoon.

L'Envol restaurant on the Airfield is good for lunch,but only open Friday and Saturday evenings.

Don't forget that RFC was there the whole of WW1 later of course RAF. Never captured by Germans.
Lots of WW1 memorabilia, memorials, do pay tribute.
