Talking When you can't do it, what do you do?

I am in the not so unusual position of having run out of flying money. I haven't been in the air since a great trip to Duxford for the BoB airshow last September.

I find myself getting addicted to Discovery Wings, mumbling sencelessly and looking up to the sky everytime I hear an aircraft, anyone else suffering?

Please tell me I'm not alone and that the great bird of aviation will drop some cash on me soon...

Yours desperate to look down on people,

Toebrake,

Nope, you're definitely not alone. Haven't flown anything except a PC flight sim for nearly two years now.

Not that I want to make you feel bad but I think that this sort of feeling stays with you for ever once you're hooked.

Get yourself a copy of VFR Scenery England & Wales (MS Flight Simulator 98 only). You can then fly all over thew place and have the bonus of developing your PPL Nav skills.

The other plus point is you don't have to watch Discovery Wings.

Toebrake,

Similar predicament. I've been working outside of the UK for the last two years. I haven't flown for just over a year.

I decided that this was getting a bit out of hand, so I joined the Tiger Club at Headcorn three months ago. Since then?

Drenched runways.

Foot and Mouth disease.

No flying at all.

Bugger.

Thanks for the support guys,

I'm thinking of selling some furniture or doing a part ex on the kids to raise the cash.

any offers on a 1970's brown sofa and a couple of rug rats (not house trained)?

P.S,

is there a market for male escorts who will sleep with women for avgas?

Toebrake - Tell me about it!! Got my PPL in SA Feb last year, haven't flown since my test. License expired, crick in the neck, etc. Managed to get myself a job in aviation at the very least, but sit in an office, and money is still not there. Aaaaargh!!
