Private Hire - Accra, Ghana
I have a business trip to Accra, Ghana planned for early December. Does anyone know of a flying school or rental place I could hire a plane/instructor there? I have a JAR/PPL so it's probably easier to use a local instructor with the aircraft for a day.
Any information would be most appreciated as I've not managed to find anything with an internet search!

I found web sites for a couple of flight schools in Ghana. Don't know anything about them myself but they might make a starting point for finding a school that can help you get a suitable aircraft and instructor. From the photos and descriptions of a group fly out on the WAASPS site it looks like you are in for an exciting experience and some spectacular scenery if you are able to get a flight during your trip.
What WAASPS does...

I have no idea about Ghana, but in general, flying in Africa is fantastic
If you can find a plane, go for it, you won't regret it ! (other than perhaps being really p***ed off with flying in Europe afterwards....)
That said, off on a bit of a tangent here: had a look at the WAASPS site referenced by Stephen Furner and this caught my eye. Never heard of them, does anyone here know anything about Deltahawk engines

Many thanks for the replies - even those questioning my sanity!
I did a 'bush flying' course with CC Pocock in South Africa last year and it was brill. He's a bit of a maverick but I learned so much in a just a few short hours, at the end of which I could easily land a C172 in less than 150 metres (mind you CC could do it in about 75)
If I manage to get anything organised for this trip, I'll let you know
Cheers,
Tony

like those lottery prizes I keep winning in Nigeria (really lucky as I haven't even bought a ticket....)
Last time in Africa, they seemed to prefer cash
