Hi DXMan,
I did the CTC Wings course as I very much suspect you did too!
Last year I got the SEP added to my licence by calling up a UK flying school and they basically got me to just go and do a PPL test. Depending on how rusty you are feeling you might want to do a flight or two before, but I didn't and got away fine. I did it in the DA40 in Shoreham which was G1000 so wasn't a shock after all the time in the 42.
Nav leg, *very* token diversion then a few stalls, PFL, back for a flapless T+G then a full stop. They then fill out a class rating CAA form, which you can take to the CAA in gatwick and get it put on your licence same day.
I reckon it cost me about £4-£500 to get it added to my licence.
A/C hire and landing fees etc. was roughly £200. Examiner fee which went straight to the bloke in cash was £110ish, then over £100 for the CAA to look over 3 pieces of A4 and then reprint the class/type rating page for your licence (bargain........!).
Drop me a PM if you've got any questions.
