Hucknall Airfield, 2nd chance????

After the washout that was our Robin Hood Fly In we've got our Air day at Hucknall on Saturday 17th June 2006.
The flying display lasts from 13:30 until 16:00 so all visitors must be on the ground by 12:30 and no departures until 16:00. Its a mixed bag with aerobatics, vintage and jet participation charting the history of the airfield all for a landing fee of £5 to the local children's hospice. The whole Rolls Royce site will be open so you can visit all the test beds and fabrication facilities in the hangars including the new joint strike fighter engine facility. All vistors by road must use the main Rolls Royce entrance (and not the flying club entrance which will be closed) where a donation to charity will get you in.
Our guest of honour will be the legendary Alex Henshaw who will be arriving by Rapide.
If your aircraft cannot cope with the 700+ grass runways then 900 or so metres of concrete runway 08/26 will be available by arrangement. All parking will be around the Rolls Royce apron or facilities on the north side not around the merlin flying club site.
All we ask if you want to fly in is to book a slot at merlinflyingclub@aol.com or telephone the airfield this Saturday or Sunday on 0115 9755153 from 10am onwards.
Look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible as the engine testing at Hucknall is due to close and this will be your last chance to see this historic facility. If you are arriving in a historic aircraft that you would like to see in in our static park then please notify us and we'll try and get you in.
Nick

The weather looks like it might be kind to us for once but only 23 aircraft have booked in.
A £5.00 donation landing fee will get all the pilot and all passengers into our show. We've got plenty of grass and 3000 feet of concrete available and this will be your last chance to see the test facilities at Hucknall before they close next year.
All aircraft must arrive between 09:00 and 12:30 with PPR as detailed above.
The Air Display starts at 13:30 with all aircraft apart fom the Hunter operating from Hucknall.

Hope to see as many of you there as possible.
