Some nostalgia...

I recently discovered some old super 8 footage from my granddad flying in Africa. Thought it might be a good idea to share. I love that look of authentic super 8 stuff

My very first gopro experience

Runway is very off-road, weather was rainy (gopro does not fix it, but actually I did not see grass rwy through windscreen), that's why the landing is so poor

Camera is locked with suction cup and two backup cords.

The flight is over Cesis city center, east of Latvia.

I was hour building in Florida recently. Here's 2 vids I made.

This 1st one is pretty cool. We do a 500ft transition over Miami/ Fort Lauderdale beach in dusk. We take off in Tamiami (just south of Miami), fly east untill we hit the shoreline and turn north towards Fort Lauderdale Executive (KFXE). The 500ft transition starts after 14mins in.

The 2nd vid is just an approach into KFXE in some crappy weather. I was cought a little bit off guard by how quickly the tower controller got back to me with instructions. Still learning...

And this one is just doing some aerobatics in gliders back in the UK.

Flight Cam

Which cam would you guys recommend?
I'm looking into maybe the NFlightcam or the GoPro cam with audio jack which seems to be the same quality of audio and video.

Anyone using any of these?

I have to date no experience with the Nflightcam but can't say anything bad about the GoPro. Plus there are a lot of helpful (and pricey) gadgets you can buy for a GoPro...

Formation

I'd completely forgotten this thread, I haven't been taking any video myself but plenty of people have been taking it of me! So a few of the good ones, the first was taken using a go pro on a stick held out of the Grumman AA5 open canopy - to say we were surprised with the result is an understatement! The other two I think we're taken by mobile phone and a camera with video function. I'm flying the black and yellow bulldog except in he 6-ship formation where I'm flying the Pup150 the video is being taken from and my mate Mark is flying his Bulldog.

The third video is the Skyhawks Formation fly past at Sywell that we did after holding the Pup and Bulldog Owners Club AGM.

In case any of you have the dreaded GEMA blockage

For those of us based in Germany, please note that with Firefox / Chrome you can download Add-ins which will stop the blockage of videos with copyrighted music in them..... Just select Window - Extensions - get more extensions (Chrome) or Extras - Addons (Firefox).... ProxTube is what I am using.....

@TW Pilot

You are right, a nice perspective but a bit too high. If it is a GoPro maybe try a chest mount? However that could be a bit to low ... You need something like a nose mount

Testing my new camera arrangement here. I think that combination is quite useful ... just need some more sunny days now!
