I did a forum search, and, now, one of the words in that search remains highlighted in red in every p*st - despite entering a new search term with a lesser-used word.

How can I cancel this annoying facet?

Just to add that the offending word is 'to' - I have tried searching on 'top' in an attempt to fool the search function, but it still highlights 'to' . . .

Either back your out of where you started searching (back button on browser) or start afresh at www.pprune.org. It would appear that once you've clicked on a message found by search and continue using the forum it filters everything through search.

Have you tried clearing your browser cache of cookies and other objects from pprune.org?

It seems to have rectified itself with a reboot.

Clearing cookies is a good suggestion - I will try it next time.

Many thanks.
