Iron Maiden/PPRuNe Bash Dec 1st Dublin. Be there or be square!

Just got back from a brief Stateside visit and went to my first Iron Maiden concert at Madison Square Garden. Wow! (Thanks Bruce) Not a heavy metal fan myself but to watch the show with 16,000 Iron Maiden fans was great. Just wish I'd brought ear plugs... hope I can pass my next audiogram.

Anyway... back to the announcement...

Plans are afoot to have a very special PPRuNe bash in Dublin on December 1st. If you are an Iron Maiden fan and a PPRuNer then you will probably be in seventh heaven. Those of you who have been to one of the PPRuNe bashes where Bruce has put on a performance with the PPRuNe Band will know that you will be in for a treat.

The plan is to travel from LGW to DUB on a B737 with the band, watch the concert and then have a bash afterwards before returning to LGW next day. Seats will be limited and arrangements for accomodation have not been started yet but registrations of interest on this thread can be made and updates will be posted as and when more definitive news is available.

Just to let you know, Iron Maiden have been together and performing for 25 years now and according to Bruce he may have to perform wearing various body casts, braces, slings and an eye patch.

Better take this chance to catch a geriatric rock band before they disintigrate into pieces. A show and a bash with an aviation orientation not to be mssed!

Would be two tickets required please.

One question Danny....

Do we need to purchase tickets for the gig or will this be sorted out in the package? Just a thought as I know tickets are beginning to sell out already in loads of venues.

Oh, and cheers for arranging this!!

Plans are to fix a price which includes tickets for the flight, the gig and possibly accomodation. Nothing fixed yet, just preliminary testing of the warters so to speak.

This is Bruces idea and for those of you who have not made the connection yet, the a/c being used will be one of Astraeus's B737's which both Bruce and I are licenced to fly (honest guv!) Whether either of us can wangle this into a duty I don't know as the boss isn't bribeable.

I think we'll need about 130 confirmed takers for this to come to fruition. Aim for about £150 a head to cover transport, concert and accomodation but don't quote me on that.

Waddya mean the boss isn't bribable.....have you tried?

Anyway, I'll take front and left, you two can fight over the other seat.

...And what better place to celebrate my Birthday than an IM gig in my home town.

Might be a mid-morning departure next day

Err... I wasn't going to mention it but I had a cunning plan!

The boss may be 'blackmailable'!

However, I will try bribery first.

B@gger

Is it too late for me to bribe the boss too?

Two tix please, ummmmm......nah I'll let you guys fly it, I might not be in too good a state to be in control of anything on a Maiden trip.

For the record I've seen Maiden countless times over the past twenty years, never been sober at one of their shows yet

Hamrah - sure you want to take "front and left" on the way back? Thinking of making it a quiet birthday, were you?

This looks too good to miss.

How nice of Bruce and Danny to arrange a gig for Hamrah's birthday I'm sure the boss will co-operate with the flight arrangements

1 ticket....or I may be lucky and need 2
