Didn't catch the PPRuNe name of the young chap who came down from Inverness.

'four and twenty virgins', was it?

What a saga.
Showed Mrs G the pics of The Bash and when she saw the one of JF and me she said ''who's hat are you wearing?'' ''It belongs to John, the other guy in the pic'' I replied. ''Well who's hat is he wearing?'' ''That's Dave's,'' I said.
''Why are you all wearing each others hats'', ''well we just did'' I said, a bit lamely. ''I do like John's hat, why don't you buy one, looks better than the flat cap you wear ''!

Seeing an opportunity I asked, '' Why don't you buy me one for Christmas?''
''Good idea, you order it and I'll give you the money''
Having been rather taken by John's hat meself, result thought I.
Onto the 'net, 100's of hats but which one was the same as Johns? PM John, ask the makers name, prompt reply, from John, with info and place of purchase. So back onto the net but seems they're out of stock everywhere, except Oz. Phone John's shop who confirm they can no longer get them.

Buggerit I thought I'll go direct to Oz makers. 15mins later hat ordered, be here in 10 days! Have I told Mrs G the cost of postage? No!

I told you it was a saga.

Sorry to raise a rather basic matter, but did any one else have an attack of the screaming threepenny bits after the Buckingham Arms?

Ummm, since you ask Hobo, a mild attack much later on that evening... Fortunately the orchestra tuned up after I had left the Fairfield Halls!

The only thing I consumed there was Youngs Bitter. And every one was as high quality as all those which went before ... and all those that came after ...

And I washed my hands every time I had a pee. Never have those hands been so well washed.

Dutchess Kate has been throwing up for two days - sha wasn't amongst us, was she?

No squitters from me. I only drank the Youngs bitter which I thoroughly enjoyed. I too washed my hands every time.

Nothing untoward to report on the screaming threepenny bits - thanks for the new term. The only issue was with a friend that I met later that night. He rang me to arrange an appointment - I woke up to say yes and I sms'ed later to check because I didn't remember our conversation. And he had the audacity to suggest that I should have saved some drinking capacity for our meeting later and not used it up all during the Bash. We went to a pub and I had a couple of colas.

goudie I trust you have sufficient years left to 'mature' that hat to the level of John's!

As the only one drinking the locally brewed, unpasteurised Meantime lager, I would assume I might be the prime candidate for the threepennies!
