What a splendid afternoon chatting over a pint or four to fellow prooners. Easy journey back home too...got on the train at King Cross and there was an old chum of mine who I hadn't seen for ages. Mrs G just dishing up a beef casserole which I'm well ready for! Thanks to everyone for your pleasant company.

Ah well, another time; just off now for pre-dinner drinks with Mrs Bas in Piccadilly.

A pleasure to meet you all...just sorry I had to leave early...

Thanks to goudie for organising and TB for recommending the Buckingham Arms -an excellent venue in my view!

...Buckingham...there has to be a Limerick there doesn't there?

Well done England!

Rwy in Sight. Award of Merit for furthest distance travelled. Joined us from Athens (although he was only filling in time until 'Skyfall' started - the real reason he came over so he says!)

enicalyth. Yes, I know he came from Sydney, but he always does at this time of year just to oversee the reduction in his pension pot as Mrs e spends it!

fitter2. Now properly identified as Aaron. Oops and apologies. Thoroughly enthralled in something goudie is trying to limerick.

VitaminG. Looking rather unfazed at the shortage of Vitamin G!

Johnfairr. The Dark Lord.

redsnail. Explaining the stall characteristics of the li'l' jet.

Johnfairr & goudie. Twats in Hats.

And just to prove I was there:

There would have been more but fighting the ambient light without support doesn't always work!

Excellent pics TB. I wish I'd nicked JF's hat, it looks far better on me!

Thanks for the kind comments Though TB saved the day, as usual, by choosing a good alternative venue...well done mate!

It sounds as though you all had a great time! So sorry to have not appeared - ended up having a family reunion in Lahndahn Tahn (incidentally not too far from where you all were). Hope there'll be a next time

Thanks Goudie. A good venue with good beer - regardless of what some might say. Excellent company.

Johnfair , with his original hat, is clearly PPRuNe's equivalent of Lee Van Cleef!

Afternoon chaps, no, I haven't just surfaced, been doing a bit of DIY and enjoyed a rather cold but deligthful walk - thank the lord the mud is frozen!

Absolutely excellent afternoon yesterday and great to see you all! Hearing about the rugby on the way back to Croydon, plus a good evening with The Manfreds rounded off the day perfectly!

Another one in the Spring/Summer? Hobo really must wear his drinking trousers next time!

Cheers!

I hang my head in shame and confess that I totally forgot about it.....

Was up until midnight the night before ferrying the family to various places, but no excuses.

Really pissed off, but glad everyone seems to have had a good time.

Having missed (sad to say - eldest son's 40th birthday coincided) a normally unmissable event, I am not sure who the chap in threadbaron's excellent portrait is. I wish I still had that much hair.

Still, there are 365 days in 2013 - I feel another bash coming on.............

It was a great Bash. Definitely worth the trip to London and its most important reason to travel. I also managed to see Skyfall.

Thanks again for all those who put time and effort to organise it.
