I was about to post that the bash could be combined with this, but I see that it (not the bash, the other thing) has been postponed until March.

Of course we could always go to the site of the F4 TDPU*, just off Trafalgar Square, in Whitehall. The pub is an old Banking Hall, the "Sun and Moon and some Stars and some Beer" or something . . .
Next to the Whitehall Theatre, but I can never remember its name, just the route to and from. You can tell I wasn't much cop as a navigator, can't you?
Always got home, though . . . .
* - when the wheels were fed up with "NATO beer calls" that subsided into piano wrecking, hangar fires and all sorts of mayhem, they were banned! Replaced by the "TDPU" which of course stood for "Tactical Discussions and Procedures Update" or . . . .

It's your call. I suggest as few steps from Victoria as possible. It's the least we can do to show respect for the old pub. Treaders volunteered to do a recce.
Nicely tucked away and close to the scene of the crime. No oiks. Johnfairr and will change all that [Chorus: We've been thrown out of better pubs than this..."]. Any trouble and well add Vitamin Gee.
Just a thought, and I know the title of this thread is 'London Bash' but as the London venues suggested don't seem to be available, and I suspect that quite a few might be coming from out of London, specifically from south of the metropolis, what about somewhere else? Guildford, for example, has good rail connections from the SW and SE, and London itself, and plenty of 'hostelries' of quality, not to mention some real dives!
(There is of course a certain amount of self-interest in this as I am thinking of coming but really do not like London.)
I can suggest a venue near Victoria where I have spent some pleasant evenings, it's called Boisdale and is at 13-15 Eccleston Street, Belgravia, London, SW1W 9LX. It has a good restaurant, a bar, and a roof bar (covered).
I think we should stick with London, and Victoria seems as good a place as any....in any case from what I've heard treads will need a fairly direct route to Croydon.... no offence mate.
Having said all that, I don't know the smoke that well, so have nowhere to suggest...
