Well, I thought the rostering gods had gone against me, but according to Flight Safety, I have sim early Dec. Which means I'm good for the 1st. (To be confirmed when the roster comes out .
Yes, being able to get there is a very useful requirement.
Well I do count making maps as one item of my job description. Following them is a different matter though!

Not a pilot, but on one flight down to JED in a 742, the crew very kindly invited us (3 brothers) onto the flight deck for the usual five minutes. By the time they'd taken us down the Nile and onto finals, they made me suffer the indignity of going "back" to First class for the landing, as my other brothers got to stay in the cockpit.
I have also, for my sins, been on a train at least once.
My PPRuning has been rather sporadic of late but I've just seen this and would love to tumble through the doors and crawl out again. Maybe after 3 o'clock as am working prior.
Allington Street as is today and for the foreseeable future.
The Stage Door is closed. As I was not allowed access I could not read what was on the banner above the pub, and no-one knew when it would open again.
I am happy to recce a suitable watering hole in the vicinity, unless anyone else has a preference, and will also keep my on progress in Allington Street just in case! The Duke of York, just visible on the right-hand edge of the picture, is also closed.

The Buckingham Arms (Youngs) in Petit France might be a suitable alternative, one of only seven pubs to have appeared in every edition of CAMRA's Good Beer Guide. Although narrow, it's quite deep and offers some room for graphical "there I woz" stories...
Bit further from Victoria, but St James's Park tube is handy.
Not been there for a while, but a Victoria/Pimlico Pub Crawl is on the cards towards the end of October.

Buggah! Thanks for the heads up TB. However, we shall not be daunted by this slight setback. Treads & Threads, we'll all appreciate you carrying out a recce for a suitable alternative...there's a pint in it!
