I am afraid they are no longer possible as the numbers dropped and it couldn't be sustained. You will have to remind yourself how good they were with pictures.

Oh no, no, no. You're not pinning that one on me. Any chance I might have had went west the moment I burst out laughing. Right after she told me about her.....plans for me
Hi Pop! Yes thanks, as well as can be expected after many years of alcohol abuse, like the rest of the Bash mob! I gave them to a mutual mate with whom you went to the Emerald Isle last month. I wouldn't have been able to post the photos very quickly because, as you'll remember, I was leaving the UK quite soon after the GatBash and he did the right thing by posting them for me, from the SD card that I took from my camera.
Flinstone maaate! Looks like we've both had our escapes from the same, errrm, personality. There's bound to be others, of course, but I feel sure that some blokes might not have been quite so lucky...
Just out of idle curiosity, how many people would be interested, in attending a gatbash, if someone were to go to the effort of doing all of the organising? Would all interested parties please take one step forward, now, by posting a reply on this thread!
Its a real shame they stopped, I only got to one (the last one)
I only had a few hours under my belt then but it (and the seminar thingy) were very useful
Hi Whirleygig .... hope you are well! .. lols .... I loved that gatbash in 2006 ... was great ... Had a blast and blisters, had to change my shoes .... red snail gave me paper for my shoes ... lols ..... you should all come to edinburgh! ... x
Couldn't possibly attend. I'm respectably married now, and what is more, so is HE!!
and, from all accounts, a gat bash wouldn't be a gat bash without a certain calibre of photographic evidence, no? Or even a degree of subtle lipstick application on yet another 'respectably married man', hmmm? I won't go into gluteus maximus tattoos and tartan minis....
I tend to agree with Reddo but suspect that the problem with organising a bash for 100-200 people necessarily involves booking a venue and some sort of musical accompaniment, not to mention food menus and booze. This is likely to require a certain amount being up front and having one or more people involved in all the arrangements.
I know that I speak for many when I say that Pop has done a sterling job over the many years of successful bashes. I've only been able to attend one such bash - the last one - and had a great time. The best part of it was in catching up with people I normally only see once a year or so, as well as meeting many who I'd only ever known by their handles and/or reputations!
I'm sure there's a place for bashes into the future, but think the format must change, though the planning and arrangements are likely to be much the same. Thus it comes down to a simple concept - who will take on such a task and put money up front, when necessary?
