Talking London Minibash - 18 August

QF31 is due to deposit me at LHR around 06:45 on Friday, 18 August. All being well - and in accordance with long-standing tradition - I plan to have my first drink on London terrafirma at midday, the same day, at the Cheshire Cheese. Anyone else feel that they'd like to partake of a liquid lunch with me?

For those who can't make it there - or want an excuse to continue the TGI Friday partying - I expect to be at the Knights Templar pub from around 17:30 to about 20:00 or so. From there, a short cab ride to the Donzoko Japanese resty for dinner and saki (or whatever), then maybe a few more refreshments at a nearby pub called The Blue Posts.

I know it's a bit of a way into the future right now but thought I'd get this in early, for the benefit of those who have to consult rosters, etc.

Anyone up for this?

Wotcha Oz, how goes it mate? Are you not the PiC??

Count me in, even though I'm off the grog still. Mr Fraser is allergic to ThreadBaron following a disturbing incident at the recent BoGBash, but at least he knows were to point the hot air dryer.....

Look forward to seeing you again!

G'day angels mate! Be good to see you again - even if you still insist on drinking the lolly water... it's the company that's important, not just the drinks! As for being PiC... good gawd no! I'll be happily esconced in a J class sky bed and enjoying a few too many glasses of vino, among other things!

Some people have memories that are waaay too long, ThreadBaron! But thanks for the reminder all the same... I shan't be making that mistake again this year. I hope!

I'm starting to get the gist of the comment about "beer-proof trousers" now too. Sounds like it was fun for everyone except poor Mr Fraser. Rest assured though that any such incidents at this minibash will be pure accident... one hopes...

Does anyone need directions to any of the bash venues? If so, get the address from the phone book then find it with Google Earth... that's soooo much easier than giving complicated text descriptions!

Well, being as how I'm not a beer drinker and neither is angels, there's two people you don't have to worry about!

Oh! It's that time of year again isn't it.

Count me in for the evening, OzEx. I should be able to get to the KT some time after 18.00, so will look forward to another sushi lesson later on.

Will be at North Weald during the afternoon to help welcome a couple of Norwegian F16s, which are flying in to help us celebrate the 90th anniversary of the airfield at the weekend.

I had to use Google Earth to find out where North Weald is, RD... about 18.5 miles from the KT as the crow flies! Be great to catch up again this year and we'll definitely wait for you! Think I'll be on the same mobile nr as last year, if you have any problems.

After this sushi lesson, you should be able to solo on it!

Congratulations AIRWAY! Be great to see you again, if the missus can risk the separation from you for that length of time.

Definitely no more CX for me, mate. Once was more than enough!

Hmmm... I was just talking with another Prooner who was among those at the final London minibash last year. I came in here to see if a confirmation of attendance had been posted and it hasn't.

Oh well, at least we now all know that there'll be at least one more for this mini-bash and, for those who are game, it looks like there'll be a visit to a few other places after the festivities at the Cheese - and before the festivities at the Knight Templar! 18 August looks like being a VERY looooong day!
