Delayed luggage car battery charger

Just arrived BRU from MLA on FR and my luggage didn't make it. I dropped off with plenty of time and there's no connecting flight. They confirmed my bag is in MLA and should arrive same flight tomorrow. No reason was given but I packed a car battery charger like the one below (yes I have a car with a flat battery in one country and a charger in another). The cables are stowed in a winder on the back of the case. I assume this would have piqued the interest of the authorities during X-ray and by the time they had confirmed it as innocuous it was too late to load. I also assume I will find the lock broken and my luggage rifled though upon receipt tomorrow?

I know quite a miscellany of stuff travels , but don't they have chargers where your car is located , did you fly out just to start the car ? if this a regular occurrence get a charger abroad, or even a solar panel to keep it topped up .
As for your luggage, it'll be fine

I've brought stranger-looking things in checked bags, like routers and disk drives, without issue on international flights, though none of them had those "dangerous looking" clamps on the ends of the cables. On my last fight this past May, I packed an entire laptop (in the original box), and while the bag had been opened and inspected stateside, my bag arrived with me in Europe (plus a connection) on the same flight.

Bag arrived next day untouched so no idea what the reason was.

Ref car charger I drove my UK reg car from Malta to UK back in May and left it at my parents to sell. Unfortunately battery went flat because it was standing for six weeks so viewings and test drives were a bit of an embarrassment. They don't have a charger. I'm visiting them this weekend so bought one with me to charge it up. Will leave charger there and put it up for sale again.
