Mark Vanhoenacker is a senior first officer for British Airways on the Boeing 747-400 fleet and the author of “Skyfaring: A Journey With a Pilot.” This essay was adapted from the author’s book.

i saw that article. I think the graphics are very very cool and the text too. (though the rotation rate at takeoff looks a bit steep? ).

There was an excerpt in the BA magazine at some point too.

Radio 4 ran bits of the book as the daily serial three weeks or so ago. Made for interesting listening.

I downloaded and read this book on my Kindle on my holiday two weeks ago.. Was a delightful read with some awe inspiring passages describing the views from way up high in the blue.
Thoroughly recommended!
