BA Executive Club Avios/Tier Points
Forgive me if this is a very stupid question, however see below:
I very rarely fly BA and recently booked a trip and signed up to the Executive Club as I thought why not.
The booking I made (a return trip LHR-xxx and xxx-LHR) amounts to a small number of Avios and Tier points.
However since I made the booking over a month ago, these points have not been added to my Executive Club (Blue) account and therefore it seems fairly worthless to have even bothered signing up in the first place.
Or is it the case that until I fly they won't be added? Or if not, what do I do and who do I contact.

Most FF programmes require you to fly the sectors booked before they are added. I believe BA applies the same.
You aren't a FF until you actually fly frequently ....

The avios and tier points won't be added until you have flown each sector. Then they are added quite quickly, (24-48 hours after the individual sector flown.) That said, there are also bonus avios (not tier points) if you book a "holiday" this being a flight and hotel, or flight and car hire together. These bonus points are often not posted as efficiently as they involve another department and a different set of rules.
Your tier points are valid only for the membership year (anniversary of the date you became a member,) and they perish at the end of that year. The avios will remain valid indefinitely provide you acquire or redeem some within a rolling 36 month period.

I think that's one instance when you can safely say ALL.
You can't just give the airline money. The whole point of FF programmes is that it gives the airline a more detailed (and hopefully more reliable) analytics database to play with when planning routes / services etc.

BMI to BA
Alas no more, but the BMI Diamond Club scheme was exceptionally generous:
1. Points for any NCP parking at airports - not just premium products.
2. Points for flying with BMI Baby - even on cheapest seats.
3. Points with the marvellous BMI Amex card at 1.5 miles per pound - without an annual fee. Never quite worked out how this one still exists as a 'Diamond Club Amex' that accues miles into a DC account that can only be used to add to your Avois/BAEC accounts.
Through all of that lot I accrued a substantially larger amount of miles than I ever would have under BA - so I was all the more grateful when BMI miles were transferred to BA at a ratio of 1:1.
Happy days...

Different Zones
I flew longhaul on BA last year and managed to pick up 11,000 avios points. Surprised that this means I can take a 'free' trip +£35 to a Zone 1 destination. I have been going through the website and I can't find a full list of Zone 1 destinations. I guess it's UK, Ireland and a few close European ones. Is the list printed somewhere instead of having to check each destination separately or if not does anybody know where Zone 1 covers?

Avios Zone Map
Just move the slider entitled "SEARCH FLIGHTS BASED ON AVIOS" and that will zoom into the smaller zone for you.

As I'm sure you know mixture, all Avios transactions in PPRuNe carry a 10% surcharge which is collected by the Mods.
