Qantas English

Dear Chaps and Chappettes,

I have a dilemma. Has anyone done, or could an one recommend doing an English component of study for the Qantas pre-requisite application process.

Yes, it's true not all of us did, some of us went into the workforce earlier and have done other jobs or had life experiences never thinking this was necessary. Time to address this wee problem.

I would appreciate any comments, suggestions and experiences that are constructive, insightful and helpful.

What's the pre requisite? Surely you wouldn't' have gotten this far through life without being able to use enough English to get you a job at Qantas.

I'd put money on some of the pilots here at QF only just being able to spell their own names.

I did mine in about 2009 with Charles Darwin Uni. Cost about $5 back then via correspondence.

Unfortunately, that year they modified the maths course, so it was not to the Qantas standard...

Any suggestions for maths, that doesn't cost a fortune?

You will have to contact Qantas to see which bridging courses are approved, only a couple are. Only standard year 12 English is required however the basic maths is insufficient.

Quaintarse and English? Must be a bugger trying to develop a plausible Irish accent.

Jet racer and Aviatrix, Thankyou for the tips. The rest of you would be well advised to take a course in galahism, because your childish and boring sarcasm leaves a lot to be desired.

Spencer,

Did you end up contacting QF HR and getting a list of all approved bridging course providers? If so, could you post it here?

Thanks!
