NZHN afterhours lighting

Can someone explain to me how NZHN after hour lighting is controlled? AIP has some obscure reference to a phone number to call for remote control of the lights. I plan a flight there with departure after 10pm.

That number is a 24/7 contact. Try calling them and discussing?

Aye, already did - very easy, just give them a call before departure, they will flick the lights on.

Its rescue fire..24/7 manned..good guys and they're required to be there since so many aircraft use Hamilton as a technical alternate to Auckland

If you don't have a chance to call ahead, you can get the Rescue Fire lads on the unattended frequency and they'll turn the lights on for you. If you need the runway changed, I believe they need to physically go into the control tower so it takes a bit longer.
