For anyone interested, Bob was the guest of Conversations With(out) Richard Fidler on ABC Radio ... should be downloadable some time.

I did not know it was on but listened to it on the car radio and it was well worth it . I have known Bob since our early days in NQ. Remember £4/10 an hour for dual in a DH82.

Taity the Legend.!!
Did the CPL theory with him. Serious teaching with much humour thrown in. Laughed and passed.
Have an top memory of an hour and a half of initial aerobatic training with Bob in the Citabria on a beautiful evening, with the great bulk of Hinchinbrook Island in the evening light.

Missed the radio...what was the record height ???

Didn't know he held an altitude record..... in a 182!
It was at the Ingham Airshow. I can't remember the year, but late 70's.
A reasonably new 182, probably supplied by Rex Aviation.
28000' seems to ring a bell... or is that my tinnitus?

And then there's "Converstipation", which means talking on the radio about a physical constriction when trying to talk on the radio - a terrible but very rare affliction.
