They most certainly do. With or without an ATR rating.

Why don't PNG Air fly into Australia? APNG once did on RPT and corporate contracts.

Word on the street is that they may be banned from Oz airspace. The chief pilot had a chequered history of compliance in Australia that CASA hasn't forgotten. He was illegally checking then, and he is still doing the same now.

Why Don't PNG Air Fly Into Australia?...

From memory they operated contract CNS LNV CNS in a DH8-100, night arrival at times, POM CNS POM but against PX and QF, the DH8-100 did not have that greata customer appeal. Faint memories of HGU CNS HGU, tied in with their Porgera contract, again DH8-100.

BUT CG now has ATR 72-600's (rumours of 42's as well) which are a much better endorsement to have than some tired old DH8 classic that the competition run.

Plenty of ATR's operating around the world for future movement.

From everything I've heard it sounds like they are quite short on crew. They have more aircraft on the way and have just won a contract operating from CNS. I'm very surprised that nobody has been contacted yet.

Hello all,
As on the company web site. Two ATR 72's arriving soon. I am guessing as they advertised a while back that they must be targeting type rated crew? Does anyone know if there will be any further intakes this year. Only received a thanks for your application email so far.
