GA Companies

Hi.

Has anybody got a list of all the GA companies in Australia and/or NZ + email addresses?
Or is there a directory out there that may list all of the companies - I seem to recall Pacific Wings having something like this many years ago.

Cheers.

Google is your friend.

If you are lazy enough not to compile your own list though..

Thanks Capt Fathom. I completely forgot about the old fashioned yellow pages. Was hoping for something a little easier to use.

Just for reassurance, this is not my way of trying to find a job.
I am trying to put something together for those that are new to the industry and those that are looking on moving up in the industry - a way to make life a bit easier for them that is free to access and use, sort of my way of giving back...

So far it appears to be a mammoth task that is going to require many hours in front of the screen for myself and those helping, hence the request for information from those in the know.

Cheers

There is certainly a market for such a document for the industry in Australia / New Zealand, similar to the World Airline Directory.

With my business we have compiled this data a couple of times for our own use, but it is a huge task to keep up to date.

Not only a data base of companies, but also a search-able data base of capabilities!

Good information? Maybe.

Current? Ummm no.

Just had a quick look and:

In WA, Alligator Airways are still listed as operational.

In SA - Renaissance Air went into receivership approx six months ago. I understand SA Air Charter are a booking agent only (willing to be correctd, if wrong)

So, about those yellow pages...

Back when I was a lad there was an Australian magazine which compiled an industry directory each year.

It was available in newsagencies when I was in High School (1980s) and by subscription in the 1990s, but I haven't seen it (or its parent publication) for many years.

"Aircraft & Aerospace" Annual I think it was, it used to list the operators, their Chief Pilots, aircraft fleet etc.

*sigh* things were better in them days.

Not sure how up to date this is, and it's only for WA, but still - it's a start! Fleet information is a bonus too.

I'm actually half way through putting such a thing together, but with the ability to allow others to contribute and update information. (stil a couple of months off due the limited spare time I have available)

I was going to post something when I was closer to getting it finished, but if anyone here is genuinely interested in contributing back to the industry please feel free to PM me

Thanks

Thanks everyone for your positive input.
Looks like a lot of long days and many cups of coffee ahead. Hopefully it is all worth it at the end.

@proprop

You should also look into the CASA files of AOC holders.

When I was looking for work a friend of mine gave me an excel spreadsheet composed by casa of every body in australia that had an AOC. In addition to charter operators it came with a 2nd spreadsheet with every single aircraft registered in Australia, so you could even look up for example Drs that owned barons or what not to see if they would be interested in the services of a commercial pilot.

Hope this helps.
