I remember a recent thread about Australian regional airlines and their standard base pay. I was wondering if anyone out there would care to update the figures plus add the extra entitlements for each company, i.e. staff travel, over time etc.
Back to the top. I too was wondering what the actual take home amount might be for a usual month. Particularly interested in Skytrans FO position. PM's welcome. Cheers
Skytrans was offering $50000 base salary for an FO with a bond of 2 years for the Dash 8 endorsement. That was over 1 year ago, not sure is anything had changed.
The current agreement available on the FWA website quotes approx $46 000 for first year. Bit low I thought. Most GA twin jobs I have had were paying $65 000.
It would be a bit lean waiting for a command upgrade.
The base pay hasn't changed. They are most likely working on days off, extension allowances...etc that bummed their weekly take home pay by 50%. When they solve the crewing crisis, they will just go back to what the base pay be.
Can someone please shed some light on the REX FO allowances?
I read a magazine article a while ago on everyday operations of REX crew and the allowances mentioned were 12k for both the captain and the FO. Is this a ballpark figure ?
Depends on the Base. Daily Travel Allowance (DTA) is the biggi'. Out of Sydney with an average of 6-8 overnights per month, all Overnight DTA (more than $5 per hour) is paid from the commencement of duty at home base til completion of that duty, and it's Tax Free! My group certificate showed that I earned approx $11K in overnight DTA for the last financial year, that's typical for most Sydney pilots, Capts and F/O's. Depending on the individuals Tax Rate, you would have to earn, I'd say between $15-18K before tax for a similar take home.
Having said that, it is an allowance, and it's intention is to cover meals while away from home base.
