I see Dash 8's, J41's, J32's, Metros, the odd Saab etc all using RWY 30 from time to time, but they mustn't be conducting RPT is that right?
They're just soft!

one direction in Toowoomba
In 17 years of operating out of TWB, it is mainly two directions. WSW in winter and E the rest of the time.
As for fog, I missed out on TWB three times and went to Oakey.

I don't think I've seen anyone do that.

No NDB there in those days. On the three occasions it was clear above the fog that finished about Charlton

"Charlton ILS"

Now that used to get a few blokes in, but the two way radio antennae in that area grew very tall in a short space of time.

Thumbs up

What kind of aircraft are they catering for, with a 2.8 km runway they must be looking at some large aircraft? Is it going to be controlled and what kind of instrument approaches are they going to have? Can only be good for SE QLD.

1. I believe they are looking to cater up to 747 size
2. Not controlled in the short term
3. At the moment there will be RNAV and RNP-AR approaches. I've not heard of any plans for ground based navaids.
