Floatplane instruction - Gold Coast

Hi People,

I am going to be in the Gold Coast at the end of this month and I want to try my hand at flying a float plane with a view to doing an endorsement.

Does anyone have any recommendations for outfits in this area?

Thanks

SB

I don't believe there is anyone on the Gold coast who can do endo's at the moment as IDO (gold coast seaplanes) was written off late last year in Broome and Cloud 9's Cessna 180 was written off about a month ago.

IDO was not written off - it is being rebuilt in by Sealand in Canada - 1545. Not sure if it's coming back here though.

Cloud 9 were trying to get hold of another machine - I haven't heard whether they were successful on not.

Looking at some of those pictures reminds me of days past at Parafield with all the Robby's beavers.

Are you thinking of C185 VH-ELQ came to grief near Tipplers?
