Vale Ken Shaw, ex Canberra Tower & Approach

Sad news today as we learned of the death of Ken "Kaish" Shaw following a long battle with cancer.

Ken was a former Canberra Approach (as in, located in Canberra) and Canberra Tower Check Controller for many years and in total served DCA, DOT, DT&C, CAA and even AsA for something like 36 years or more.

He was admired by many for his calm nature, his technical ability and his fairness as a checkie.

Those who knew Ken will, no doubt, join me in raising a glass to him. His funeral notice will appear in the Canberra Times (and online) this Saturday but it's believed his funeral will be Tuesday 22nd Sept. at Norwood Park Chapel in Mitchell, ACT at 12 noon.

Thanks for my Canberra ratings Ken.
