Landing Fees

Just got a letter from a large airfield in Melbourne.

Costs have gone up.

$15 per tonne + GST

MINIMUM $30 + GST per landing.

$15 minimum for choppers.

Hmmm.... not impressed.

Oh and PLUS the Airservices Tower Charges, around $8 per tonne roughly (whatever the standard is these days)

The best ones are the ones where a 172 is charged for an ILS at YSSY, having taken off 3 hours earlier from Alice Springs or the like.

Arr, that AVDATA be a superbly reliably tacking device!!!

Side note, if ye be finding that a large landing fee, try yer hand at flyin into kingsford. Ye'll be needing to rob the Krispy Kreme store across from Hawker to be payin yer dues!

Arr!

I used to work at BK an we often did PILS at CB, that is overshoot at the minima. One day we got a parking bill for many thousands of $$ saying their records showed that we made an approach and there was no record of our departure, so they tried to bill us for 3+ months parking charges.

When the bill was queried they said if we didnt cough up, we would not be allowed be allowed to do any more PILS at CB. Since when did CB airport own the airspace??
