Type rating or no type rating?

G'day all.

I was wondering if paying for a type rating and associated endorsements was the only way to get into the majors? If for example you already hold a MECIR and 1000+ will they hire and train you themselves?

Just quickly mate,

QF dont charge for TR
Virgin do, but rumour is that will stop as 1st July,
Jetstar charge you for TR also.
