Sad news.

May the patient and crew rest in peace.

I hope they find the cause. Generally such flights are managed by well-maintained fleets. Early reports suggest a fire on board somehow.

Unfortunately US medevac flights have a pretty grim safety record.

It's understandable as they go to unknown and uncontrolled locations, often in very poor weather and there is tremendous pressure to perform but I seem to remember the industry was trying to increase training and risk assement to bring the rates down a couple of years back
