Standby excursions

Hi,

Wasn't really sure where to post this question but thought I'd try here.

I'm on vacation with the family in California and will be in Vegas then San Diego over the next 2 weeks and woul love to take the family up in the air.

Does anyone one know if standby travel is possible to say the Grand Canyon or something similar?

I have my airline company ID with me but nothing in the way license etc.

Oh and if it was by helicopter my little boy would explode with excitement.

Any suggestions for a family of 4 welcome.

Thanks,

Kempus

Something is probably being lost in translation. "Stand by" over here used to mean you bought a cheap ticket with no guarantee of actually getting on a flight, just hoping there was an empty seat. Stand by fares went away years ago. The term now means I've got a regular ticket on a later flight but I'm here now and want to go on an earlier flight.

Are you asking if there is an "airline employee discount?" I could not tell you. Best bet is to ask the tour company.

You'd probably have to pay full price but check out Papillon Airways, they do the Grand Canyon tours out there in Eurocopters. In San Francisco try SF Helicopters.
