Kentucky basketball charter: "nose literally in the grass"?

Kentucky basketball coach John Calapiri is quoted in todays Commercial Appeal"

" im telling you , we almost ran out of runway when we landed the plane. As a matter of fact the nose of the airplane was in grass. But we got down...."

Folks in Memphis arent kindly disposed towards their x coach. But the quote was in the newspaper, and noone was surprised when he took credit for the landing.

anyone hear anything about an overrun?

It was an analogy of the season for Kentucky basketball-----they had not played up to their expectations until the start of the SEC tournament. Since then, they are 6-1 with only a 1 point loss to #1 Florida.

Had there been a shorter season, ie. "runway", they wouldn't have done as well.

No problem with their airplanes.
