One of the reasons why I always wear a baseball ball cap when I fly, not that it would probably matter should the bird be an eagle. I've had a couple of close ones in Alaska, and think my flashing landing lights have helped to avert some, not to mention other aircraft on those misty, rainy days.

....bird debris removed and no noted structural damage iaw AMM 5-51-14
