Filing Taxes for US Citizens Overseas!

Hi all, I am flying for a carrier overseas in the Middle East.
Just curious as to how should I go about filing my Tax Returns when tax time comes around?
I heard (don't quote me on it) that if your income is less than $85,000 you don't need to pay taxes, if you work overseas. I guess I still gotta file something.
Also, the way I get paid is as follows:
1) Base Pay
2) Flt. Allowance
3) Housing
4) Misc.
So just curious if there are any IRS websites or if you wise folks have some tips please feel free to share.
Best Regards,
Fly safe everybody,

I strongly suggest that you find yourself a decent accountant. You can do it all by phone and e-mail. If I ever get audited, my accountant will deal with the IRS. Imagine the hassle of dealing with an audit from overseas...

Contrary to popular belief, a CPA can not represent you before the IRS. There are only two people who can do this:

Enrolled Agents (may also be licensed CPA)
Attorneys (may also be licensed CPA)

I lived overseas for six years. I completed my returns using popular tax software and mailed them in. You can also e-file using software. I found the software to be excellent. I prefer the H&R Block program.

Since most CPAs who do tax work are Enrolled Agents, that is a distinction without a difference.
