Who will fly the 787's for Norwegian?

Hvor mange piloter er det i Europa med 500 timer 777PIC som vil jobbe for Kjos pa hans betingelser?

Parc Aviation have an excellent opportunity for Captains who are currently operating the Boeing 777 and who wish to operate the Boeing 787 for Norwegian Long Haul A/S.
The successful applicants will be based in Bangkok, Thailand and will be given a 3 year contract. Screening will take place in June 2012 with the successful applicants starting contract towards the end of 2012.
You will operate routes from Scandinavia to Bangkok and Scandinavia to New York.

Minimum Requirements:
> JAA ATPL;
> B777 Type Rating within your JAA ATPL;
> The legal right to live and work in the European Union;
> 5,000 minimum total time;
> 500 minimum time as Pilot in Command on the Boeing 777.

Det er vel ikke noen heksekunst å fly en 787 så det hadde nok vært bedre å legge ut bid blant de nåværende Norwegian flygerne.
Det kan vel være noen briter som tok tidlig pensjon fra BA og som liker Thai mat og mere som kan søke på Parc kontrakten men tviler på at de er bedre egnet til jobben enn lojale Norwegian flygere som har vært med siden begynnelsen.

Har søte minner fra mine nattstopp i Bangkok og hadde jeg hatt JAR lappen på 777 så hadde det nok vært fristende....

Finns nog en del skandinaver med B777 i sina certifikat. Problemen är väl två: Få har typen i sina JAA cert. Sen för att de ska vara intressant för dem så ska det nog erbjudas skandinavisk bas och inte Bangkok. Då stannar de nog hellre hos Korean, Qatar, Emirates, Etihad osv.....

Ironiskt nog tror jag att björnen hade kunnat erbjuda lägre löner för piloterna om han erbjudit scandi-baser. Nu måste han öppna plånboken om han ska locka erfarna piloter med JAA-cert till Bangkok...

Som jag läser kraven verkar det inte som om du nödvändigtvis måste ha 777an på ditt europeaiska cert, bara att du har tiden i sig OCH ett JAA cert.

Om det nu är så att man måste ha 777 på sitt JAA cert för att erbjudas jobbet så borde det inte vara nåt större bekymmer för de som har ett JAA cert och mer än 500 timmar på kärran. Såvida inte reglerna har ändrats nu när EASA är i spel (?) kan de med 500h överföra 777an på JAA certet. Efter det är 777 typen antagligen frusen för det lands registrering (N, A6 osv) där du har typen vilket sen borde gå att "unfreeze" när de gör type riden på 787 under JAA regs.

Så gjorde jag ivarjefall när jag överförde en type från FAA till JAA ett antal år sen.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Når asiatiske selskap må opprette base i Europa og tilbyr lønninger som er 25-30% høyere for å få kvalifiserte piloter så blir det spennende å se hvem som biter på dette...!

uh-huh....cos anyone with 500 hrs wide body PIC would have to find a contract in overcrowded smog filled Bkk with no housing allowance, no schooling and a 5/2 roster completely resistible....in fact a low timer with no jet rating and half a brain would!!!
Setting the tone for a really high calibre of drivers with this offer eh?

Sorry to quote the movie that got us here in the first place but "Someones ego is writing cheques...."

You work more, for less otherwise we Will be bankrupt yada yada yada... They ALLWAYS Will have to say that.... They are allways trying to scare the crews by saying "we wont survive if...." BS that is, dont take their lies and propaganda any more...
