Designed by Airline Pilots for Those in the Aviation Industry
This looks like a great NEW Forum. I read the Rules and Purpose from the Moderator and I think our project fits the profile so let me be the first to post a project.
The International Pilots Group (IPG) is a consortium of airline pilots representing many of the major airlines in the world. We have focused on a tax-advantaged project in the Caribbean for the past 3 years. Phase One of our inaugural project is complete; Phase Two just started on the oceanfront in the beautiful tax-free Cayman Islands.
We have designed two secure websites with all the details of our group and current project. Our home page www.ipgglobal.net (about our group) is like the trunk of a tree while www.castawayscove.net (the project) is like one of the branches. We have a Virtual Tour on our Castaways Main Page and many pictures of the Resort in our Media Section.

I have a request, I've gone to the site, checked out your mission statement, how to join, etc. (Brief, cursory look) But I'd like to see the actual benefits to our airline industry, how many there are, if they are genuine, the small print, etc.
Would you be able to provide a login for the secure information, so I could review the site and give a synopsis? Anything you post publicly will be seen by everyone here, so if you post it privately I'll understand. (From what I gather, you want pilots and airline people looking at the site anyway.)
Island Boy, thanks for the login. You guys have a lot of information to go over.
I've spent much of my time, downloading documents, your rental return analysis, maintenance fee analysis, etc. Figured out (SOME) of the benefits to being a pilot with your projects. Read your "join" section. Even checked out your screensavers (virus checked for safety).
I'm still putting together an overview, but I do have a couple of comments. First, if possible, I was very intrigued by the health coverage survey and section. Would you be able to post in the "International Health Coverage" thread something about what your doing and whats involved in selecting a plan? (I take it its not individual health coverage.) I think a few of us might be interested.
Also, your Vacation Rentals/Exchanges forum is that specifically for airline people, or is anybody allowed to post in there? (There's an apartment in Paris thats spectacular) If so, are their any discounts for PPRuNe members?
P.S. It's good to hear you have a history with PPRuNe.
We looked at both those jurisdictions and determined the Cayman was safer, more sophisticated, with better commuter uplift. But the biggest single factor was the investment required to obtain Permanent Resident Status which was Considerably less than the Bahamas or Turks.
To obtain your own login just download our Membership Form and email it back it usually only takes a couple of minutes.
I'm a little short of time this mornin' and your Q will take a little longer to answer, so I'll get to yours a little later Vestage.
To answer the Q about our Vacation Rental/Exchange Forum properly you need a little history..... Our development in the Cayman is a condo/hotel which means the owners of the units usually put their unit in the hotel rental pool (if they are not living there full time) which provides a good financial return on there investment when they are not using it.
To further enhance their financial return we decided to setup a Free Vacation Rental/Exchange Forum for them to provide additional exposure for their properties as our members are from all over the world.
It turned out to be pretty popular with airline & non airline owners providing over 40 listings in 3 weeks. It has evolved into a Forum for anybody who is interested in finding a vacation property or exchanging one to deal directly with owners etc. (many who offer discounted rates) without a middleman as we have nothing to do with it.
That's precisely why we designed the studio with an efficiency kitchen which is probably the most affordable new waterfront unit on the Island.
We also have a number of pilots who buy a 2 bdrm ( which as shown in our architectural section is a studio and 1 bdrm) with a friend. They both get a PRS and then have the option of renting either a studio, 1 bdrm, or 2 bdrm providing them excellent flexibility and return.
Not much time at all, although it is based on availibility. Two ways to do it download our Reservation Request Form and email it back or send an email to email@example.com referencing this PPRuNe Forum and provide a primary (preferred) and two secondary (backup) dates.
You know I was talking to somebody about this, he is actually involved. He said something about this IPG group hoping to do something charitable for the Cathay guys that got sacked last year, the 49er's. Maybe a golf tourny or something, is that true?
Yes it is, we wanted to give something back to the Airline Community. We all know some of the 49erís personally and we all know how we would feel if we were one of them. You know that old saying ďThere go I but for the Grace of GodĒ (or something like that) and so we have tabled a proposal through the appropriate channels which in a nutshell says that we will deposit a percentage of the sales from our projects into a special fund set up and administered by the 49erís committee to further assist them through this unimaginable time.
We donít want to be involved in the politics; just simply assist fellow pilots who we feel are victims. It is important to note that we do not have any official response (sanction) from their committee yet and until we do this is just theory. Hopefully we will hear from them soon.
With regard to the golf tourney, this has evolved from a thread we started over on the PPRuNe Bashes Forum to host a get together for PPRuNerís in the Cayman. It was then suggested that this might be another good venue to further assist them by hosting a 49erís Golf Tournament with all the proceeds again going to them personally. We liked the idea, but this will be totally dependent on interest and response. If you want to see how it evolved go to PPRuNe Bashes and click on the thread "How About Our Resort in the Cayman Islands". We even had an inquiry from Capt. PPRuNe himself, which was encouraging.
