Ryanair fined for tax evasion......

Ryanair were hit with a €10500 fine by the Irish Revenue for tax evasion due to the use of agricultural diesel in its fleet of apron vehicles at Dublin Airport.....

Defaulters List
(Part 1 of the revenue defaulters list)

I predict an impending "ten and a half million seats for one cent" sale to help pay the fine.....

In the interest of balance I should also point out that they weren't the only ones doing it, Aer Lingus also received a similar fine, as did Aer Arann, Servisair and Sky Handling........

Well does that not indicate that the fuel supplier was also involved? Red diesel from up north ?

Is it spoiling the gag to point out these other defaulters, for those who didn't download the PDF or read it elsewhere?

Aer Lingus 10,500 (7 charges)
Aer Arann 1,500
Servisair 7,500 (5 charges)
Sky Handling 1,500
SR Technics 3,000 (2 charges)

edit to note I didn't see ASFKAPs mention as the print was really really small

Around these parts where red diesel has been illegally used they automatically confiscate the vehicle involved and crush it.

In fact it happens fairly often in Ireland. People assume that it is OK to use red diesel for any off road vehical but the customs take the view that it can only be used in agricultural vehicals. A customs man said to be once 'Our job is to raise revenue'.
In the part of Ireland I come from people socialise with the Garda (police) but not with the Customs.

My apologies then, I'll have a word with the editors of all the newspapers here and the TV and radio stations which covered the stories in their 'news' bulletins and tell them to get their collective acts together when it comes to deciding whats 'News'. What with the election results, church child abuse scandal, Air France crash and the suicide bombing in Pakistan, I can only assume that it must have been whats known in the media as, "a slow News day"......

They'll probably up the ridiculous toilet charge to cover the cost of the fine...
