2 nights close to Manila MNL Airport

I usually use the Marriott hotel but looking for something close to the airport with some "feel". Don't want anywhere too "dodgy", but somewhere close to "safe" bars and restaurants.
No, not chasing ladies (or gents) but want something with character that is not too expensive, with real street food and local shops nearby.
I'll have an early start after the 2 nights hence the need for close to the airport.
Thank you in advance.

Old down town Marriott closed, renamed, whatever.

Resort is close to airport, and very nice.

Some good hotels on Roxas Boulevard close to good eating places - there are lots of new seafood places on the Diosdato Macapagal boulevard. As an aside this is reputed to be the most expensive piece of road in SE Asia due to the corrupt regime of the last president. Taxi from the airport less than 500p - if metered be sure it is switched on - better to get a prepaid on the left side of the Terminal one arrivals exit door. I have a house in Las Pinas about 25 min from the airport -will be there in May and June - love the place.

So any hotels on Roxas Avenue would be good?
Any idea's which would be best? Also would prefer breakfast but Philippino, not English, I am in the Phils.....

Streetfood nearby would be an advantage, 5th trip but 3 times in Marriot Airport hotel and once in Valenzuela city.
Cheers.

S,

The Traders on Roxas is good, somewhat pricey but I guess a Marriott is pricey also.

In Traders bar a San Mig costs around P190 but there's a 24/7 store just around the corner at the lights and one can stock up the room minibar from the store.

Just check out the reviews on a particular website, Goggle for hotel name followed by "reviews" to read what other guests say as, around Manila, I learned that if one tries to 3* it then, basically, one risks sleeping with cockroaches.

These days I just try to avoid MNL and 'Cathay' it straight in/out of Cebu where there's an abudance of reasonable hotels on this smaller airport's doorstep.

Cheers for that info, I've looked at that hotel. (Traders)

I have to normally just overnight in Manila but this time I have a little business to deal with. Will stay the 3rd night in Marriott as its excellent for getting you to the airport.

Maybe I can look wider and head towards Pasig where I have to work?

PF, I could go direct to Cebu but 2 things put me off, Qatar use A330 instead of B777 and also price rises quite dramatically. I know good hotels in Cebu,Mactan but then its CebPac to Butuan.
