Can anyone suggest a hotel with crew rates for a couple of nights at LHR?

I would start by trying the Arora on the bath road, or either of the 2 holiday inns on the main drag of the A4 bath road.

I would suggest avoiding the Renaissance, although it has the best runway views of any of the airport hotels (as long as you're not facing Bath Road, obviously), but is tired, tatty, run down, and old fashioned. In its favour, it has good rates, I think I paid about £60 last year. In fact 'Renaissance' is precisely what it needs.

Park Inn usually has good staff rates.

Or you could try Premier Inn as normal rates can be quite good there.

Spent 2 nights in the Arora last week, it's cheap and cheerful, got a reasonable bar, very much a BA crew hotel though £49 per night.

The Arora in Crawley (Gatwick) is outstanding, in fact it's possibly the best thing about Crawley.

I've stayed at the Crowne Plaza a couple of times and can't fault it. Its set a little further back behind the M4 but think the hotel has a free shuttle which takes less than 5 minutes. Always seems like something going on. Always see crews from Far East and Middle East there (JAL & Ethiad?). Depends upon your budget though. I dont have any access to crew rates but paid £69.00 per night inc Breakfast the other week.

They don't call it creepy Crawley for nothing! The highlight is the midnight dash across a dark railway platform to gain access to the back gates of the hotel whilst avoiding becoming embroiled in a fight between any number of drunks and lifes bottom feeders.
