Bali Dive.

Just wondered if anyone could help with any advice on a proposed SCUBA trip to Bali next February/March. Two pretty experienced divers (PADI) and one lounge lizard. Some kit rental would be necessary, certainly tanks and BCDs. Quite like the idea of renting a villa and that might well be a cheaper option than a couple of hotel rooms. Would probably use Singapore Airlines as entry carrier. Any suggestions on Indonesia and Bali would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Renting villas can be quite reasonable, we got an excellent deal on a luxury villa at that time of year, although hotel prices are relatively cheap. As for the diving, try bali aqua (google them)..... Get them to set up things like drift dives, and I'm sure that you will have fun.

Enjoy it.

Thanks for the information on Bali Aqua. Snorkelling is about as active as this lounge lizard wants to get but the others can scootle away to their hearts content. I wonder if you could/would be so very kind as to let me have a recommendation for a villa renting company and a suitably pleasant location. It seems to me that most of the dice sites are on the eastern coast of the island and although distance shouldn't be a problem, drives back from dives always seem to be slightly irritating. There seem to be a lot of places available for rent and I'm sure that the real trick lies in knowing which to avoid.
Many thanks again for the input, it's all very useful.

Bali Diving.

Hi there. I have dived Bali many times and loved every single dive!! I'm a PADI Instructor (MSDT) and have used several dive centres in Bali but the best 2 would have to be Bali Scuba and Aquamarine. The latter do some awesome dive safaris whereby they arrange a complete tour around the Bali dive spots and will organise accommodations to suit your needs. This would cater for the diver and non-diver (snorkeler) alike.

If you want to see alot of Bali in a relatively short space of time then I recommend the above.

Furthermore, my favourite dive sites are tepekong, crystal bay and tulamben and the USS Liberty wreck!!

Have a great time!!

Thank you dan vector, good sites with lots of leads. The hotels though seem very varied and Trip Adviser isn't particularly helpful. I guess that the quality can change quite quickly. I'll still try the villa rental route. For two rooms and two ablutions, it's probably the more economical and congenial.

True, Indonesia in general is very diverse and that is part of the beauty!! Another great place (villas) is 'Pat Masse - Villas at Jimbaran' perfect place for grilled seafood lunches and dinners. Very well maintained and attentive staff.
All of the dive outfits in and around Denpasar, Sanur, kuta will pick up and drop off from there too.
Enjoy!! Dan.

Thank you for the additional information.
I hope the plot works but of course kings may fall between now and February.
