Try the newly opened Shangri-La hotel at Gan, avoid the Equator Village!

They'll never measure up to the good old "Blue Spitoon"

An evening at the Astra Cinema, followed by a curry at the Paki Mess. A POSBY gin before bed. Aaaah, what a place....

Getting the new co-pilot to ring for a taxi, to take the crew to the station so they could catch a train downtown for a night out....

Ah, Gan!

Marine Bar, Sgt's Mess and late night to the Blue Spitoon coinciding with the arrival/departure of the "moon rocket". Getting the living daylights frightened out of me by fruit bats when staggering back to the basha.

Landing in a Herc, but getting off in long sleeved KD.
Getting mistaken for the VC10 crew and being given their special rooms and post flight steak sandwiches.

Hoovering the sarnies down before the real crew arrived and we were asked for the room keys back.

Lou,

Once had a battle with a "shiney" fleet Captain, two of his stewards were in single accommodation and their "pals" (Gan stewards) wanted our (Herc) Captain to share with his co-pilot. The 10 Captain couldn't understand why we were a little "miffed", his comment that we were only there for 14hrs whereas his crew were there for 4 days, went down like a lead balloon!! But I digress, I have also stayed in the Airport Hotel mentioned previously and would suggest that any other hotel would be better!!!
