Accomodation in Amsterdam

When I was there for a week I stayed at The Old Quarter which is a REALLY cheap hotel about three minutes walk from the central railway station in the City centre.

It was about 15 euros per night including a reasonable breakfast. You shld be able to find it on the web...i did.

There are bars all around you , plenty of nightlife, the red light district and all that within reach haha!

I take it you are training at CAE, Hoofddorp? Best advice would be to phone one of their co-ordinators and ask for a list. There are numerous B&Bs within the area, all surrounding Schiphol. Aalsmeer, to the south east and Amstelveen to the east of the airport are your best bet as bus links via Schiphol Plaza are good. The bus will leave you virtually at the door of CAE. There is a train station a few hundread yards north of the facility which will take you to Schiphol and in to Amsterdam. I wouldn't advise staying in the city as it's a bit of a distracting place , plus quite a distance to travel when travelling to and from CAE. Remember that some sims sessions can be as early as 0500 local or as late as midnight, so location is key. Not all buses are 24hr, so sometimes a hire car is needed (there is a carhire place beside the Toyota garage close to CAE). I was there about a year and a half ago and stayed in Amstelveen. Hoofddorp is a pretty souless place, however I think CAE has access to some accomadation at a student college near by. Sorry, I no longer have the contact details of the place where I stayed.
