2 nights in jakarta

Got 2 nights in jakarta, been to BATS and Tiga Puluh bars. Need other things to there. I play golf and will be doing that, wondering what else to do that would be worthwhile. Have another 2 nights there also later in the month. Everything considered.
Thanks

Check out CJ's in the Mulia, as well as their Friday Japanese brunch with free flow beer, relax afterwards with a visit to their health club for a massage....

Otherwise, slum it, go to Hard Rock, TGI's or Bugels......

If you end up in TGI/Bugels, check out the Outlet store on the main street, excellent products for dirt cheap prices.

Enjoy...

I agree with Mutt about Bugils. Great staff, a very relaxed and friendly bar with really good food.

Unfortunately, CJ's has become too much of an expensive meat market these days.

CJ's is getting worst nowdays... still prefer HardRock Cafe.

They are making new roads from town to airport, heavy trafic is expected along the highway especially if you staying at Sheraton Bandara.

Thanks guys. Will see how I go with those idea's. Hopefully not to much traffic to get into town. Does anyone know of any good markets, where the expat does not lose all his money ie get ripped off. I expect some increased prices, but is there somewhere that is reasonable? Any other club/dinner ideas welcome.

the famous market, Tanah Abang just caught on fire last week.. too bad.

for food feast try Cilandak Town Square (Citoz) and Kemang Food Fest, southern jakarta
or LaPiaza @ Kelapa Gading, northern jakarta

Citoz more towards youngster hang around place with western cuisine widely available.

Kemang food fest is foodcourt-ourdoor concept, you can enjoy 'shisha' at a low price there. great crowd during week-end.

LaPiaza is mostly family, offer both western and asian delights.

both has life music in certain restaurant open till mid-night during day time.

If you really want to slum it there is always the ubiquitous Blok M, Jl Falatehan. I actually enjoy it down there when the wife lets me out to play. Generally a good crowd of people around but can be quiet mid week.

'Proper' bars as opposed to the hotel type 'clubs'.

Ah, Jalan Fellatio, one of the joys of Jakarta. Sportsman's Bar for cold beer and pizza to start the evening off and then down the street for whatever delights are on offer... magnificent.

Have just been to Jakarta for 2 nights and was taken to a new restaurant (well, new to me anyway) called Cassis, in the Pavilion Apartment Retail Compleks, Jl KH Mas Mansyur. It's the road that runs just behind Sudirman, turn off at the Meridien hotel. Top French nosh, food prices OK, wine list had some eyewateringly expensive bottles but house wines perfectly acceptable at around 35 quid.

I would highly recommend it. So I have.
