Bahamas

Rather thought to make a long slow visit there later this year. The hurricane season is unimportant although perhaps it should be.
The purpose of the journey would actually be an exploratory one with a view to moving there on a more permanent basis. The Bahamas and Bimini cover a fairly large area. Just wondered if anyone had any suggestions and perhaps rather more importantly, does anyone have the negatives on the place in general and any specific islands in particular?
Also, any advice as to a good general base of operation for researches would be appreciated.

Many thanks. cc
